About Us
Rainbows Pre-school was founded in 1964 formerly known as Fairfield Nursery, it moved premises in 1971 and was renamed as Rainbows in 1988. We moved to our fabulous setting at the Woodland Community Centre in 2018. In September 2024 we opened our sister setting Rainbows Village Preschool at the Village Hall, Shorts Road, Fair Oak.

Management Team
Lynn Hooper – Manager/Early Years Educator/Designated Safeguarding Lead
Lynn has been a Manager at Rainbows for over 20 years, she is Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education & Paediatric First Aid as well as Level 4 in Safeguarding. She is also Thomas trained. Lynn is our Safeguarding & Behaviour Lead. Lynn’s 2 children & 4 grandchildren have all attended Rainbows.
Sarah Carline – Manager/Early Years Educator/Health & Safety Officer
Sarah has been at Rainbows since 2015 & joined the management team 2021. Sarah is fully qualified with her Level 2 & 3 in Early Years Education & Care, as well as Level 2 in Autism Awareness. She is Level 4 qualified in Safeguarding Lead and Level 3 in Paediatric First Aid. Sarah is our Health & Safety officer. Sarah has 2 daughters, her youngest attended Rainbows.

Debbie Schools – Early Years Educator & Deputy Manager
Debbie has been at Rainbows since 2014. She is a fully qualified teacher & brings over 20 years of knowledge & experience to Rainbows, as well 30 years of teaching experience from Year R to Year 2. Debbie is Level 3 qualified in Safeguarding & Paediatric First Aid. Debbie’s 2 daughters have both attended Rainbows.
Lisa Long – Early Years Educator/Deputy Manager & Senco
Lisa joined Rainbows in 2021, she is Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education. Lisa is our Senco, her qualifications include: Making sense of Autism in Early years and Senco Induction training. She has her Level 3 in Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid. Lisa also her her Level 2 Food & Hygiene qualification as well as Prevent Duty.
Anna has been at Rainbows since the start of 2021. She has over 26 years experience and part owned a preschool for 24 years. She is qualified in Early Years education, Safeguarding Level 4, Prevent Duty, Level 4 Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Behaviour Management.
Vicki Ryves – Early Years Educator
Vicki joined Rainbows September 2021. She is Level 3 Qualified in Early Years Education as well as her Level 3 in Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid. Vicki has 2 boys, both have attended Rainbows.
Laura has been at Rainbows since 2020, she was previously a childminder before joining us. She is Level 3 qualified in Paediatric First Aid & Safeguarding. She is also qualified in food hygiene. Laura has her CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education. Laura’s 3 sons & daughter have all attended Rainbows.
Diane Dorman – Early Years Educator
Diane joined Rainbows in September 2023, she holds an NNEB certificate in Early Years Education (equivalent to a Level 3).She has 26+ years of childcare experience including 16 years being a nanny. She has her Level 3 in Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid. Diane is also part of the team at the Village Setting.
Jodie Treadaway – Early Years Educator
Jodie is currently working towards completing her Level 3 in Early Years Education. She is also qualified in food hygiene Level 2. Jodie’s daughter and one of her sons both attended Rainbows.
Emma Joy – Early Years assistant
Emma has many years experience working with children, She has her Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification. Emma prepares and helps children with their snack as well as supporting the team. Emma is also part of the team at the Village setting. Emma’s 3 children attended Rainbows.
Carla Roebuck – Early Years Educator
Carla is currently working towards completing her Level 3 in Early Years Education. She has her First Aid qualification. Carla is also part of the team at the Village setting.
Village Team
Vicky Giles – Manager & Early Years Educator
Vicky joined Rainbows in October 2024 and is a senior member of the team. Vicky has a foundation degree in childhood studies, she has 8 years experience with babies and toddlers. Vicky has her Level 4 Safeguarding qualification as well as her Paediatric First Aid. Vicky eldest son attended Rainbows Woodlands nd youngest has joined us too. Vicky is the settings Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Sandra Watson– Manager, Early Years Educator & Senco
Sandra joined Rainbows in September 2024. She is our Senco and has over 3 years of experience working with SEND children at Shepherds Down School. She is Level 3 qualified in Early Years Education. She has her Level 3 in Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid.
Louise Mould– Early Years Educator, Deputy and Health & Safety Officer
Louise joined Rainbows in September 2024, . Louise has her Level 3 qualification in Early Years Educations. She has her Paediatric First Aid & safeguarding qualification. Louise is the setting Deputy and supports Vicky and Sandra. Louise is also the setting Health & Safety Officer.
Katie Brown– Early Years Educator
Katie joined Rainbows in September 2024, . Katie has her Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education. She has her Paediatric First Aid and safeguarding qualification.
Sadie Layton – Early Years Educator
Sadie has her Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education. She has her Paediatric first aid qualification. Sadie’s youngest son attended Woodlands Rainbows and her youngest daughetr is with us now too.
Lou White– Early Years Educator
Lou joined Rainbows in September 2024, She is currently working towards completing her Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education. She has her Level 2 Food & Hygiene qualification. Lou’s 5 children have all attended Rainbows.
Bekki Ratcliffe – Early Years Educator
Bekki has her Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education. She has her Paediatric first aid. Bekki has 3 children.
Hannah Poole – Early Years Educator
Hannah is working towards completing of Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education. She has her Paediatric first aid. Hannah’s 3 children all attending Rainbows.
Jayne White – Early Years Assistant
Jayne has many years experience working with children. She has her Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification. She prepares and helps children with their snack as well as supporting the team. Jayne used to work at Rainbows between 2000-2014. Her children and grandchildren have all attended Rainbows.
Livi Pratt – Early Years Apprentice
Livi joined Rainbows in September 2025, she is cuurently doing her Early Years Apprenticeship with us. Livi has her first aid training. Livi used to attend Rainbows herself.
At our Woodlands setting we are known to the children as ‘aunties’. We are all mums, who most of us have had children attend Rainbows over the years. All of us are First Aid providers and hold at least a Level 3 in Safeguarding. All have had DBS checks.
We are constantly updating our training needs as appropriate, the training courses are to meet the needs of our children, such as: Supporting Early Language Development, Effective Transition and Emotional Wellbeing, Supporting Speech, Introduction to Adverse Childhood Experiences and Early Trauma, Prevent Duty, Stress Free Target (IEP), Inspiring outdoor learning environments for two year olds, Schemas, Introduction to the Impact of Domestic Abuse on Children and Young People, Importance of Self Evaluation, Thrive Awareness and Six Strands Curriculum, Understanding and Addressing Behaviour in Early Years, Makaton and BSL.
