The Academic Year
This calendar runs from September 2026 to August 2027, covering the school year and the following summer. Each month is divided into weeks so you can scan the entire year in one place.
Two Settings, One Calendar
Use the weekly notes to check dates for the Woodlands Setting on Savernake Way and the Village Setting on Shorts Road. Unless a note names one setting, it applies to both.
Reading Closure Notes
A full-week holiday is labelled across its weekly entry; a closure affecting only one day should include that date and the relevant setting. Dates requiring confirmation are marked “Check dates” rather than presented as confirmed closures.

How to Read the Calendar
Full-Week Holiday
A shaded Monday-to-Friday block marks a full week when the indicated setting is closed.
Single-Day Closure
A marked date shows a one-day closure, such as a bank holiday or staff training day.
Regular Session
An unmarked weekday within term time follows the setting’s usual preschool session schedule.
Term Starts
The first marked session date shows when children return after a break.
Term Ends
The final marked session date shows the last day before a scheduled break.
Woodlands Setting
A Woodlands label applies to the setting on Savernake Way only.
Village Setting
A Village label applies to the setting on Shorts Road only.
Both Settings
A shared marker means the date or closure applies at both preschool settings.
Do Woodlands and Village always follow the same dates?
Not necessarily. Read setting-specific labels carefully; a closure marked for Woodlands Setting, Savernake Way may not apply to Village Setting, Shorts Road, and vice versa.
Are regular preschool sessions marked individually?
Usually, unmarked weekdays within term time indicate normal sessions. Your child’s booked days and hours still determine when they attend.
Are weekends included in the academic-year view?
Yes. The full-year view includes weekends so you can see how holidays and individual dates fall within each week.
Could a published calendar date change?
Occasionally. Operational needs or updated guidance may require a change, so check the latest message from your child’s setting before relying on a date.
How will families hear about calendar changes?
Rainbows Pre-School will share updates through Tapestry. If you are unsure whether an update applies to you, contact your setting directly.
Who can confirm whether my child attends on a marked date?
Contact the team at your child’s setting with the date and your child’s usual attendance days. They can confirm how the marking affects your booking.
